As reported on the 18th November, the Surrey Mark Masons donated an amazing £8,000 to Shooting Star Children’s Hospices to support the local children’s hospice charity and the families they support.

The charity provides care and support for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, at both their Hampton and Guildford hospices, and through their community nursing team across Surrey and London.

The Surrey Mark Masons who have been long term supporters of the charity, were able to give this very generous donation from a sum of money donated by the late Duke of Edinburgh.

Jane De Lay, Head of Community Engagement at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices said, “The support we have had from the Surrey Mark Masons has been amazing over the years, and we are so grateful to them for such a huge donation. This amount of money could cover the cost of our Family Support Line for two months. This vital line, which is run by our Family Support Workers, ensures our 700 families have access to advice, support and information about our services, as well as simply being an outlet for any families who simply need someone to talk to. A massive thank you to the Surrey Mark Masons for their generosity and ongoing support.”
