A capacity attendance, via the Raffle and an auction, raised over 800 pounds for the Surrey Mark 2022 Festival. The Commander subsequently presented a cheque to the R.W. Provincial Grand Master of Surrey Mark Master Masons Ian N. Clark. In response, Ian thanked all those who attended and contributed to the donation, and gave an update on how the Festival arrangements were proceeding. During breaks in the dining, Commander Paul engaged in the now traditional 'Taking the Salute' with everyone (this was done in groups by table).

Bro. Wayne Kraus discharged the Raffle, ably assisted by Bros. Paul Fitzwilliam, Andy Lynch, and Gary Raggett. Squadron Leader John 'Jack' Gargett assisted the Commander as Aide-de-Camp, and gave a guided tour of the Club prior to the Dinner. Bugler Ben White played the United States Air Force Song on the Commanders entry into the Sovereigns Room (previously named The Ballroom, but renamed after H. M. Queen Elizabeth 11 the Club's Patron, made an official visit in the autumn to celebrate the centenary of both the Royal Air Force and the RAF Club) with the Guests of Honour, R.W. Bro. Ian and his wife, Pat. Plus, the R. W. Provincial Grand Master of London Mark Master Masons David F. Ashbolt and his wife, Vanda.

On completion of dining, and the Toasts, Ben gave the opening note for 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic' after which Commander Paul led everyone in a rousing rendition of this famous and inspiring tune. Then the Commander performed 'The Last Salute' and expressed his appreciation for the support given to the event. He subsequently asked all present to stand while he took the final Salute on behalf of everyone, as Bugler Ben played first 'Taps' followed immediately by 'The Last Post' both of which are sounded at, respectively, American and British Military bases at sunset to close the day, and to remember all who have fallen answering The Call of Duty, and those who are still serving.

Particularly, those In Harm's Way. On the conclusion of the proceedings, and in keeping with tradition, Commander Paul invited those who wished, to join him in the Club's Cowdray Bar for further light refreshment….and many accepted the invitation, in order to round off a very entertaining and enjoyable evening in one of the World's leading, and most prestigious private Clubs!
