An Official Visit to Weald of Surrey Lodge

In September, W.Bro. Peter Kipps, Provincial Grand Junior Warden, made an Official Visit to Weald of Surrey Lodge of Mark Master Masons and Weald of Surrey Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 1314. Also present as a guest of the Worshipful Commander was W.Bro. Chris Eley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

The afternoon started off with a Royal Ark Mariner meeting where the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Barry Northmore, welcomed the Official Visitor, who was saluted with 3.

The main item on the agenda was to Install Bro. Roger Davis as Worshipful Commander. This was done by W.Bro. Barry in a most sincere manner.

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Roger Davis, who welcomed the Official Visitor and other guests. W.Bro. Peter Kipps was saluted with 3.

A ballot for Advancement was conducted in respect of Bro. Daniel Robert Woolloff a member of Welcome Lodge No 5505, proposed by Bro. Robert Woolloff (his dad) and seconded by W.Bro. Alan Boniface. This proved in his favour and Bro. Daniel Woolloff was admitted and advanced to the Honourable Degree of Mark Master Mason by W.Bro. Roger Davis, assisted by W.Bro. Peter Bullock who presented the Working Tools in a fine manner.

The Acting Senior Deacon was W.Bro. Kevin Woodward, ProvGSD, and the Junior Deacon was Bro. Bob Woolloff, the candidate’s father.

The Worshipful Master thanked all those who assisted with the Ceremony.

W.Bro. Steve Jones, Provincial Grand Charity Steward, gave one of his entertaining talks about the 2022 Festival encouraging those who had not yet signed up for regular giving to consider this. W.Bro. Chris Eley then had much pleasure in presenting W.Bro. Steve with a Grand Patron collaret thanking him not only for his personal contribution to the 2022 Festival but also for all the work he has done over the past few years as our Provincial Grand Charity Steward.

W.Bro. Peter Kipps then had much pleasure in presenting another two Brethren with their MBF Awards, as well as presenting a Grand Patron collaret to the Worshipful Master on behalf of the Lodge.

An Official Visit to Weald of Surrey Lodge

The Charity Steward then proposed to donate a further sum of £450 towards the 2022 Festival. This was approved by the Brethren and the Worshipful Master presented the cheque to W.Bro. Peter, who received it with grateful thanks.

After the Lodge was closed the Brethren of the Weald of Surrey Mark Lodge and their guests sat down to a most enjoyable meal at the Sutton Masonic Hall.

Weald of Surrey Lodge is a member of the Mann Group meeting at Sutton and an open invitation is always there for other Brethren go along and enjoy their Mark Masonry with them.
