An Executive visit to Noel Lodge

In September 2018, Noel Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 505 and Noel Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 505 were honoured by a visit from W.Bro. Chris Eley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, and a good number of Provincial Grand Officers of the year. Also present as an Honorary Member of the Lodge was VW.Bro. Michael Barnes, PGMO. Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master.

The afternoon started off with a Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Edward Henson, welcomed the Assistant Provincial Grand Master and the Provincial Officers.

W.Bro. Chris had much pleasure in presenting W.Bro. Edward with a Patron Collaret thanking him for his support for the MBF 2022 Festival.

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened. The Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Roy Baker, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Andrew Fox, that the Assistant Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and he demanded admission to the Lodge. The Assistant Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with the Provincial team and was welcomed by the Worshipful Master. The Assistant Provincial Grand Master was then presented with the gavel and took the Chair. He said how pleased he was to be visiting Noel Lodge again.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master spoke about the various ongoing initiatives, especially events in support of the 2022 Festival. He then had much pleasure in presenting a Grand Patron Collaret to the Worshipful Master on behalf of the Lodge. He also presented a Grand Patron Collaret to W.Bro. Simon Williams thanking both the members of the Lodge and Simon for their tremendous support for the Festival.

He then introduced the Provincial team, took the minutes and vacated the Chair.

Next on the agenda was the installation of Bro. Graham Ellis as Worshipful Master. This was done in an excellent manner by W.Bro. Andrew Fox, assisted by Bro. Steve Potts who presented the Working Tools in a faultless manner. W.Bro. Chris gave the Addresses to the Master and the Brethren and W.Bro. Mark Donovan the Address to the Overseers. The Address to the Wardens will be given at a later date as unfortunately they were unable to be present.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master wished the new Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Graham Ellis, a most enjoyable year.

After the Lodge was closed the Brethren of Noel Lodge and their many guests sat down to a most enjoyable meal at the Surbiton Masonic Centre. The members of the Lodge had agreed that the Lodge would match any proceeds from the raffle at the Festive Board. The Worshipful Master had much pleasure in presenting the Worshipful Assistant Provincial Grand Master with a cheque for £180 towards the 2022 Festival.

This was immediately given to the 2022 Festival Treasurer, W.Bro. David Barden, ProvGInspWks, to be banked.

Noel Lodge is a member of the Austin Group meeting at Surbiton and an open invitation is always there for other Brethren to join them.
