Mark Master Masons of Surrey
An Official Visit to Croydon Lodge

In September, W.Bro. David Wills, PGSD. Provincial Grand Junior Warden, made an Official Visit to Croydon Lodge of Mark Master Masons and Croydon Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 198.

The afternoon started off with the Festive Board. An unusual feature of this ‘upside down’ Lodge is that they dine before the meetings to allow the Brethren who may find leaving work early to attend the meetings difficult.

After the Festive Board a Lodge of Mark Master Masons was opened by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Nigel Feltham, who welcomed the Official Visitor and other guests.

A ballot for Advancement was conducted in respect of Bro. David Michael Hibberd a member of Trojan Lodge No 7698, proposed by W.Bro. Tim Ford and seconded by W.Bro. John Woodville. This proved in his favour and Bro. David Hibberd was admitted and advanced to the Honourable Degree of Mark Master Mason by W.Bro. Nigel Feltham, assisted by W.Bro. Tim Ford. Bro. Bob Russell presented the Working Tool in a fine manner. The Worshipful Master thanked all those who assisted with the Ceremony.

The Worshipful Master invited the Official Visitor, W.Bro. David Wills, to present a Grand Lodge Certificate to Bro. Mark Knight. It was noted that although Bro. Mark was Advanced at the last meeting he did a fine job acting as Inner Guard for the Advancement Ceremony.

This was followed by a short Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Nigel Feltham, welcomed the Official Visitor and Guests, took the minutes and closed the Lodge.
