Grand Master’s Lodges of Instruction

On Wednesday 25th April the Grand Master’s Lodges of Instruction came to Sussex. The demonstrations of both the Royal Ark Mariner Elevation and the Mark Advancement ceremonies were held in the Brighton Masonic Centre in Queens Road.

Grand Master’s Lodges of Instruction

This is the first time that the Grand Master’s Lodges of Instruction had come to Sussex. This year’s Annual Festival was presided over by RW. Bro. Martin Wilson, the Provincial Grand Master of the Mark Province of Sussex. Also present were RW.Bro. John Prizeman, Deputy Grand Master, RW Bro Keith Emmerson, Past Deputy Grand Master, and a good number of other distinguished Brethren – about 160 in total.

After everyone had been seated in the Lodge Room we were treated to a demonstration of the Royal Ark Mariner Elevation Ceremony by the Demonstration Team. The Lecture was given in a splendid manner by four Demonstration Team lecturers.

After a short break, all resumed their seats for the second half, a demonstration of the Mark Advancement Ceremony which was performed in an excellent manner. It was rounded off with the Lecture on the Mark Master Masons’ Degree being delivered faultlessly by the Demonstration Team Preceptor VW.Bro. David Pascho.

After the demonstrations, thanks and congratulations were given to the Demonstration Team by the Deputy Grand Master and we all retired to the bar. 153 Brethren then sat down to a very enjoyable festival dinner.
