The Provincial Grand Master visits Woodgrange Lodge
The Assistant Provincial Grand Master is Elevated into Royal Ark Mariner – again

In January the Weald of Surrey Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners and Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1314 was honoured by a visit from W.Bro. Derek Harrington, representing the RW Provincial Grand Master. Also present was W.Bro. Chris Eley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master on a private visit.

As unfortunately their candidate for elevation in the Royal Ark Mariner Degree was unable to attend the Lodge decided to give a demonstration of the Elevation Ceremony. W.Bro. Chris offered his service as Candidate. The ceremony was performed in an excellent manner by the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Barry Northmore, and his officers.

Executive Visit to Curfew Lodge

After the demonstration W,Bro. Chris said how good it is to remind oneself what it was like to be blindfolded and elevated as a candidate all those years ago.

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was opened. W.Bro. Derek was welcomed by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Roger Davis, and was saluted with three. Bro. Colin Smith was declared elected as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year and W.Bro. David Lawrence as Treasurer.

After the short Mark meeting the Lodge was closed and the customary photographs taken the Brethren of Weald of Surrey Lodge and their guests sat down to a most enjoyable festive board at the Sutton Masonic Hall.

Weald of Surrey Lodge is a member of the Mann Group meeting at Sutton and an open invitation is always there for other Brethren come along and enjoy their Mark Masonry with them.
