Fratres Calami Aerariique Lodge hosts the 2018 Secretaries, Treasurers and Directors of Ceremonies Seminar


In February 2018, the Fratres Calami Aerariique Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1704 hosted the Provincial Seminar for Secretaries, Treasurers and Directors of Ceremonies of Mark Lodges in the Province of Surrey.

The Lodge was opened by the Acting Worshipful Master, RW.Bro. Ian N Clark, ProvGM, and the minutes approved. W.Bro. David Lawrence was declared Master Elect for the ensuing year and VW.Bro. Greer Kirkwood was elected as Treasurer.

A proposition was made to donate £750 towards the 2022 MBF Festival to enable the Lodge to achieve Patron status. This was approved and the RW Provincial Grand Master thanked the members of the Lodge for their support for the Festival.

After the Lodge was closed the seminar for Secretaries, Treasurers and Directors Ceremonies was opened by VW.Bro. Richard Baker, Deputy Provincial Grand Master, who welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending.

The Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Richard Knox, gave a presentation on the protocol for Official Visits, especially visits by members of the Provincial Executive. The.Provincial Grand Treasurer, W.Bro. Graham Best, then spoke about the Lodge accounts. The Provincial Grand Secretary, W.Bro. Tim Ford, spoke about the need to keep records up to date, the new data protection legislation due to be implemented in May, and the communications between the Secretariat and Lodge members. The Provincial Grand Master closed the seminar by thanking everyone for attending. Membership of Fratres Calami Aerariique Lodge of Mark Master Masons is open to Secretaries, Treasurers and Directors of Ceremonies of all Mark Lodges in the Province of Surrey. The Lodge is designated a Past Masters’ Lodge, which has enabled the Lodge to keep its membership fees at a low level to encourage membership. Afterwards the Brethren of Fratres Calami Aerariique Lodge and their guests sat down to a lovely meal at the Nutfield Masonic Centre.
