The Deputy Provincial Grand Master visits Kintore Lodge

In on 20th November 2017, Kintore Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 333 and Kintore Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 333 were honoured by a visit from VW.Bro. Richard Nerod Baker, Deputy Provincial Grand Master, accompanied by W.Bro. David Willmott, Past Assistant Grand Master and VW Bro. Jerry Gangadeen, Assistant Provincial Grand Master (London), and a goodly number of Provincial Grand Officers of the year.

The afternoon started off with a Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Immediate Past and Acting Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Ton Morris, welcomed the Deputy Provincial Grand Master and the Provincial Officers. The next item on the agenda was to Elevate Bro. Luke Lloyd Sommer of Kintore Lodge of Mark Master Masons. Bro. Luke Sommer was Elevated to the Ancient and Honourable Degree of Royal Ark Mariner in an excellent manner by W.Bro. Ian Keen ProvRAMGR, ably assisted by W.Bro. Tim Ford who acted as Senior Warden. The Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners was closed.

The Deputy Provincial Grand Master visits Kintore Lodge

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened. The Assistant Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Paul Wicking, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Tony Morris that the Deputy Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and demanded admission to the Lodge. The VW Deputy Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with the Provincial team, was presented with the gavel and took the Chair. The VW Deputy Provincial Grand Master introduced the Provincial team and spoke about the 2022 Festival.

After the Provincial Grand Master had vacated the Chair the Worshipful Master, installed Bro. Stephen into the Chair of the Kintore Lodge of Mark Master Masons. The Address to the Master was given by W.Bro. Tony Morris, to the Wardens by W.Bro. Alan Zimon, PAGSwdB, PPGSwdB, to the Overseers by W.Bro. Terry Carpenter PGJD, PProvGJW, ProvDepGSec and to the Brethren by VW.Bro. Deputy Provincial Grand Master.

The VW Deputy Provincial Grand Master then presented a Grand Lodge of Master Mason's Certificate to Bro. Luke Sommer and welcomed him to the Mark Masonry in general and the Province in particular.

The Charity Steward, W.Bro. Alan Whiddett PProvGStwd, and the Worshipful Master presented a cheque for £1,500 to the Deputy Provincial Grand Master towards the 2022 MBF Festival. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master gratefully received the cheque and thanked the Brethren of Kintore Lodge for their support for the Festival.

The Charity Steward, W.Bro. Alan Whiddett PProvGStwd, and the Worshipful Master then presented a cheque for £500 to the Provincial Grand Master of Surrey (Craft) towards the 2019 Festival For the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution. The Provincial Grand Master (Craft) gratefully received the cheque and likewise thanked the Brethren of Kintore Lodge for their support for that Festival.

After the Lodge was closed the Brethren of Kintore Lodge and their guests sat down to a most enjoyable meal at the Croydon Masonic Hall.
