The afternoon started off with the Festive Board. An unusual feature of this ‘upside down’ Lodge is that they dine before the meetings to allow the Brethren who may find leaving work early to attend the meetings difficult. This was followed by a short Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Roy Miller, welcomed the Assistant Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Officers.

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened. The Acting Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Paul Wicking, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Roy Miller, PProvGStwd, that the Worshipful Assistant Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and demanded admission to his Lodge.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with the Provincial team, was presented with the gavel and took the Chair. He said how pleased he was to be visiting Croydon Lodge again and how much he was looking forward to the afternoon’s proceedings. He also said how good it was to see the Lodge going from strength to strength over the past few years. He thanked W.Bros. Solomon Pratt, Olu Richards and Tim Ford for all they had done to keep Croydon Lodge alive. The Assistant Provincial Grand Master spoke about the 2022 Festival, especially the events that have been planned. He then introduced the Provincial Team, took the minutes and vacated the Chair. After W.Bro. Roy had resumed the Chair the Assistant Provincial Grand Master had much pleasure in presenting the Worshipful Master with a MBF Grand Patron collaret and thanked the members of Croydon Mark Lodge for their generosity.

The Worshipful Master invited W.Bro. Garth Blanchard to occupy the Chair to install Bro. Nigel Feltham. Bro. Nigel was Installed into the Chair of Croydon Lodge of Mark Master Masons in an excellent manner by W.Bro. Garth, assisted by the Worshipful Master. The Address to the Master was given by W.Bro. Chris Eley, to the Wardens and Overseers by W.Bro. Tim Ford and to the Brethren by W.Bro. Chris Eley.

Croydon Lodge is a member of the Bevan Group meeting at Croydon and an open invitation is always there for other Brethren go along and enjoy their Mark Masonry with them.
