The Provincial Grand Master visits Noel Lodge

In September 2017, Noel Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 505 and Noel Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 505 were honoured by a visit from RW.Bro. Ian Clark, Provincial Grand Master, accompanied by W.Bro. Chris Eley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, and a number of Provincial Grand Officers of the year.

The afternoon started off with a short Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Stephen Sayer, welcomed the Provincial Grand Master and the Provincial Officers and invested his Officers not present at the Installation meeting.

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened. The Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Roy Baker, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Edward Hensen, that the RW Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and demanded admission to the Lodge. The RW Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with the Provincial team, was presented with the gavel and took the Chair. The RW Provincial Grand Master introduced the Provincial team and spoke about the 2022 Festival. He congratulated the Lodge on having the highest percentage of members signed up for regular giving.

After the Provincial Grand Master had vacated the Chair the Worshipful Master invited W.Bro. Paul Haycock to conduct the Ceremony of Installation. Bro. Andrew Fox was installed into the Chair of the Noel Lodge of Mark Master Masons by W.Bro. Paul Haycock. The Address to the Master was given by W.Bro. Paul Haycock, to the Wardens by W.Bro. Simon Williams, to the Overseers by VW.Bro. Ted Melber and to the Brethren by RW.Bro. Ian Clark.

The Charity Steward, Bro. Matthew Hawkins, and the Worshipful Master presented a cheque for £505 to the Provincial Grand Master towards the 2022 MBF Festival. The Provincial Grand Master gratefully received the cheque and thanked the Brethren of Noel Lodge for their support for the Festival. This donation will enable the Lodge to receive a Grand Patron award.

After the Lodge was closed the Brethren of Noel Lodge and their guests sat down to a most enjoyable meal at the Surbiton Masonic Hall. The Provincial Grand Master and the Provincial team congratulated W.Bro. Peter Hadden (Uncle Albert) on his 80th birthday.
