Report of the Provincial Grand Treasurer - Accounts for the year to 31st August

I have pleasure in submitting the Annual Accounts as Provincial Grand Treasurer, for confirmation by the members at the Annual Meeting. These accounts show a small deficit on the year, the reasons for which are set out below.

The dues for the year remained at £5.00 per member for both Mark and RAM. A reduction in overall membership resulted in a reduction in dues received. However, increased charges to Lodges for Yearbooks resulted in an increase in income from that source to £2,800.

Increased costs of printing the Yearbook and the Overseer were almost exactly matched by an increase in advertising revenue, resulting in a reduction in net publication costs of £691. The net costs of the Annual Meeting were lower by £943.

The overall shortfall on the year was £233 (2013 £1,213). At the Annual Meeting held in May 2014, an increase in dues of £1 per member was announced, which was to be effective for the year ended 31 August 2015, and payable on 1 September 2015. The Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Executive have been conscious of the additional burden that this would place on Lodges and ultimately on members, and have taken steps to reduce the costs incurred by the Province. The increase in dues previously announced to take effect on 1 September 2015, will therefore not be implemented and dues will remain at £6 per member, the same amount charged to Lodges on 1 September 2014.

Auditors' Report

We have examined the attached Accounts of the General Fund and in our opinion they show a true and proper record of the state of affairs of the Fund at 31 August 2014 and of its revenue results for the year ended on that date.
